Manifesto: I study the imagery made of texture,
line, shape and transition, using grinding as a sketching technique,
drawing on pristine sheets of soft silvery metal. All my art
pieces are constructed of brushed and lacquered aluminum. The
nuances of shade, from brilliant bright silvers down to rustics
greys and subtle soft browns come from various techniques of
sharp abrasive grinding and smooth dull paper burnishing.
Canvas Construction: Art works are currently available
in two fashions.
- “Composite” construction uses a thin material
mounted on an extruded plastic backer. This is available on
smaller pieces, and prototypes, up to 27" x 36".
The art can hang alone or be framed.
- “1.5" Rolled Edge” is available on all
sizes. The canvas is one piece and constructed of 1/8"
material the edge is 1.5" thick, brushed and lacquered.
Size Options: All canvases are variations of rectagles
ranging in sizes down to 2 sq ft for studies and prototypes
up to 5 ft x 12 ft for finished art works. Smaller sizes are
generally 2' x 4' , 3' x 3' ( 8 – 10 sq ft. ) The material
is readily available up to 5 ft wide and 12 ft in length. larger
material is avaiable thru special order.
Shipping: Smaller pieces can be boxed and shipped
thru UPS. Larger pieces get wooden crates suitable for trucking
companies. Deliveries to residences can be arranged, no matter
what the size of the art. Shipping Fees and Crating Fees are
calculated seperate from the art fees.
Installation: These pieces are fairly light weight
and should be installed by a professional.
